Carrots, radishes and onions
Growing Goodness Together!
Carrots are a must. So are radishes and onions. What is best? Planting these garden friends
together! Radishes loosen up the soil when they sprout, helping carrots to root more easily.
Plant them at the same time since radishes germinate faster. By the time your radishes
are growing well, they’ll have the soil loosened for your carrots. Onions are fantastic at keeping
carrot pests away (they hate the smell). It’s a win-win-win!
• Soil should be loose and well-drained, with a mixture of sand and clay.
• With consistent moisture and a sunny spot, plants will be happy.
