Abu dhabi -- 23 Sep 2024 (Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange) Alef Education has appointed Eyad Darawsheh as the General
Manager of Miqyas Al Dhad, an initiative set to revolutionize Arabic literacy across the Arab world. Miqyas Al Dhad, a joint
venture with MetaMetricsA(r), aims to standardize Arabic literacy assessments similar to the LexileA(r) Framework for
English. The announcement was made on September 23, 2024.

Eyad Darawsheh brings over two decades of experience in education, technology, and publishing to his new role. His
expertise is expected to drive the adoption and development of the Miqyas Al Dhad scale across educational sectors in the
Arab region. According to information available from Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), Alef Education, listed as
ALEFEDT, has seen a positive trajectory in its educational technology initiatives, impacting approximately 7,000 schools
globally.
Miqyas Al Dhad provides a unified scale to measure text complexity and student reading ability in Modern Standard Arabic.
This scale enables educators to create personalized learning plans and allows parents to better support their children's
literacy development. The framework is designed with a scientific basis by psychometricians and educators familiar with
the linguistic and cultural contexts of the Arab world.

Will Lock, Chief Growth Officer at Alef Education, highlighted the strategic importance of this appointment in fulfilling the
company's mission to enhance Arabic literacy. The framework is set to transform Arabic language education, providing
clear metrics for evaluating student progress and resource effectiveness.
Brad Baumgartner, CEO of MetaMetricsA(r), expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing its role in
