some dreadful disease—even death—but no reason to

        worry.  I  mean, more  than 400 million other people in

        North America are in the same boat. There’s comfort in

        that, right? You’ll be okay; keep ignoring it.


        What is it that makes it so hard to eat regular healthy

        meals in moderation?  Why are we called to  the

        magnificent beauty of “quick” and “convenient”—tasty

        and irresistible—junk food?


        A  place  where there’s no mess from cooking and no

        clean up after. A land where food comes in a paper bag,

        but never with enough napkins.


        This is truly a predicament in our modern society. But it
        may not all be your fault. Processed foods, in particular,

        are explicitly designed to be hyper-palatable and

        irresistible.


        These days it seems there is no time that’s not right for

        crunching on cheap, delicious junk food.



        And how often do we keep indulging in one handful… a
        couple of bites… just a taste? Once that package is open,

        most people end up eating more than  they meant to.

        Much more.


        There’s a reason this experience of losing control with

        processed food is so universal. The food  industry  has
