Job’s Tears Variation; Fireman; "The Philippines" 1930’s tangerine fabric. Antique mall purchase late 1980s,
early 1990s. 64"x75½" Fabric: Cotton. Batting: Thin cotton. Backing: White cotton muslin. Edge: An ochre-
colored tape is machined to the back and brought ¼" to the front and stitched by hand. Piecing: Appears to
be very tiny hand stitching. Quilting: By hand 6-7 stitches per inch, in 1" grids in the white fields, around
the inside edge of the orange motifs. Condition: Very good. Excellent if it had never been washed. The
colors are unfaded. A muslin patch repairs a bite out of the back only, near one corner, 1¼" wide and 7"
long. Comment: The initials "RF" are inked into the edge tape on the back.
