Mennonite Joseph’s Coat Unknown age. The calico pink goes back to 1900. The quilt is soft from washing,
but not fragile. eBay purchase from Berk’s County, PA. 81"x87" Fabric: Cotton. Batting: Thin. Backing: Pan-
els of pink and yellow calico (Quilt is reversible). Edge: The front is brought to the back ¼" and caught by
hand. Piecing: By machine. Quilting: Near the seam lines inside the stripes except for the pink bands. They
are finely quilted in an 8-stranded braid with 6 to 7 stitches per inch. Condition: The dark blue-green stripe
shows slight fading consistent with laundering cotton.
