El Paso Chapter of Top Ladies sponsored and hosted its Inaugural Blue & Silver Ball on Friday October
26, 2018 at The Centennial Banquet & Conference Center, Fort Bliss Texas. The theme for the evening was
“Midnight Masquerade.” Our special guests includes Bishop Albert J. Mays, Jr., Auxiliary Bishop Texas Western
Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ; Lady Valerie Watkins, Chapter Organizer; and several El Paso Elec-
tion Candidates. The evening’s events included a Top Teen Talent Showcase. We had quite a representation of
the fine arts to include a vocal ensemble, instrumental violin solo, a dialogue and musical duet from ‘Hamilton,”
and a live drawing presentation. The highlight of the Ball was the crowning of Mr. & Miss Top Teen, Teen Bran-
don Williams, Director of Operations and Teen Zipporah Williams, TTA President. The climax of the evening
was the “Midnight Masquerade Waltz” choreographed by Lady Joy Jacobs, TTA Advisor. Lady Debra Hazzard
served as the Blue & Silver Ball Chair.
Houston Chapter with a TEAM mission to impact the community, along with twenty supporting part-
ners coordinated a Community Resource Fair. The chapter mobilized its programs and projects and journeyed
into the community with the primary focus of assisting residents to “Get Back to Work”, combined with health
education, activities for senior citizens, community beautification, and Project Prom. Spearheaded by the Status
of Women committee, the well planned and executed fair was promoted internally as a Ladies and Teens mentor-
ing activity. The Third Ward Multi-Service Center was chosen as the venue because of its central location to the
community that is in need of the vital services coordinated by the chapter and partnering organizations; University
of Texas Health Science Center of Houston dental students, HR Representatives Wells Fargo, Walgreens, Texas
Southern University, and Harris County Healthcare for the Homeless.
