Skyline Metropolitan Chicago Top Teens of America Chapter volunteers for the
Brookdale Senior Annual Luau Celebration
The Skyline Metropolitan Chicago Top Teens showed exemplary dedication to service
and community partnering while volunteering at the Brookdale Senior Living Center in
Olympia Fields, IL. This year’s event was held in the afternoon of Saturday, August 12th.
The annual event is the largest showcase the Brookdale staff hosts for over 300 residents
in their beautiful south suburban facility. Residents were treated to a luau themed indoor
and outdoor party featuring authentic Hawaiian dishes, music and original Polynesian
dancers. Skyline Top Teens assisted with setting up tents, decorating, directing traffic
for arriving guests and serving food. The partnership between the Skyline Metro Chicago
TTA Chapter and Brookdale started in 2016, with activities being conducted by the Teens
with the residents. The facility Director, Lori Barr praised our Teens for always
demonstrating the upmost respect and kindness to their residents.
The partnership between Skyline Metro TTA and Brookdale will continue to grow and
strengthen as the chapter plans to increase activities between the Teens and senior
starting in September.
“We were absolutely thrilled at the opportunity to help our friends at Brookdale. They’ve
been great partners and champions of our Top Teens, so we couldn’t wait to be of
service to them”.
