LPCC 2017 Lord of the Year

CHICAGO—March 2017—Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. named Jimmy Akintonde,
President & Founder, UJAMAA Construction, Inc. as its 2017 Lord of the Year.
“The chapter voted unanimously to name Lord Jimmy as LPCC Lord of the Year due to
the generosity he consistently shows to the community in general and LPCC initiatives
specifically, particularly our Crown Jewel Awards and scholarship programs,” says Anita
L. Luster, LPCC President. “Lord Jimmy also allows the chapter full use of his
company’s state-of-the-art office building for our chapter meetings and special events, all
of which is crucial to our chapter’s success.”
Lord Jimmy was presented with his award in front of 200+ Ladies, honorees, dignitaries
and guests at the 2017 Crown Jewel Awards, which focused on female leaders in Media
and Technology. The occasion was held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Double
Tree Hotel in Alsip, IL with Lady Gloria Pruitt and Lady Lisa Boughton serving as CJA
Chair and co-chair, respectively.
Lord Jimmy expressed sincere gratitude to Lincoln Park Chicago Chapter for selecting
him as 2017 Lord of the Year. He also thanked his wife, Lady Shanita Akintonde, LPCC
First Vice President & charter Member and credited her support during their 20-year
marriage as one of his secrets to success. “TLOD is a big part of my family’s life,” he
stated. “Now I get to be called Lord of the Year for about a week.”
