brightest and most accomplished women. The Chicago Defender celebrates the courage,

Hospital.
An accomplished writer, Lady Shanita has one book under her belt, Unleash the Leader
Within You and is currently writing a second one.

Chicagoland area to celebrate the profound impact being made by women like their very
own Lady Shanita.
Lady Maxine Morgan Named Lincoln Park Chicago Chapter (LPCC)
2017 Lady of the Year
CHICAGO—March 2017—Top Ladies of
Distinction, Inc. Lincoln Park Chicago
Chapter named Lady Maxine Morgan as 2017
LPCC Lady of the Year at their annual Crown
Jewel Awards (CJA). Lady Gloria Pruitt and
Lady Lisa Boughton serving as CJA Chair and
co-chair, respectively. When asked how she
felt about receiving her chapter’s highest
honor, she replied in her traditionally modest
demeanor. “I am humbled by it. I know
there are so many dedicated women who
[also] deserve it. I’m not an ‘out front’ person.
I’m mainly a helper.”
And help she does. Whether snapping pictures in her role as Chapter Historian,
serving on an LPCC Committee or transforming a space from bland to beautiful
(she has a flair for room décor), Lady Maxine is a ‘go to’ person LPCC knows it
can rely on. “If I see something that inspires me, I try to incorporate that into my
work and just build.’
Lady Maxine had a 30-year teaching career where she served as Head Teacher
and taught 2nd graders. Her ‘proudest accomplishment’ in that realm was being
named Teacher of the Year a record THREE TIMES at Pasteur Elementary School
in Chicago. In her spare time, Lady Maxine loves to travel and has visited Brazil,
London, Paris, Rome, Hawaii and Barbados, just to name a few.
Above all, Lady Maxine is a family woman. Born as the middle child in a family
of 11 children, her mother Anna lived until she was 98-years-old. She and Lord
Horace recently celebrated 46-years of marriage. “She is beautiful on the inside
and out,” says Lady Anita Luster LPCC president.
