Area V

                              Area V Has New Leadership. Lady Roxyanne Cartier Burrus
                              from the Columbus Ohio Chapter is the newly elected and
                              14th National Area V Director. She was elected to this post at
                              2017 SynLod and excited to serve in this capacity. Her TLOD
                              membership began in 1996 so as a seasoned member she is
                              prepared to take on this responsibility.
                              Lady Burrus comes to this position with a proven track
record of successful leadership with TLOD, otCher volunteer organizations,
nonprofit community boards and her professional career. She is currently
employed as a classroom Instructor with The Ohio State University and teaches
City and Regional Planning Courses to undergraduate and graduate students at
the Columbus Campus and will be establishing a diversity program for the
minority students this semester. She is also President/CEO of Cartier Burrus,
LLC. an urban planning and community development consulting business. She is
a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter and
a lifelong member of the historic St. Paul AME Church, Columbus, Ohio. In
addition she serves as a Planning Commissioner with the Franklin County
Planning Commission in Columbus, Ohio.
Lady Burrus is a mother to two wonderful adult children. Her son Will Burrus
and his wife, Bianca have been married 18 years. They have an adult daughter
Jasmin, and 6 year old twins, Will, Jr. and Sofia. Her daughter Ayanna Burrus is
married to Hafsteinn Gislason. They live in Astoria, New York, and recently
celebrated seven years of marriage. They are the proud parents of Dalia who is 5
and baby Leo who is 7 months old.
Lady Burrus has served in many roles with TLOD Columbus Chapter as well as
the Area V level and most recently at the National level. Lady Burrus is a
dedicated member of the organization and is appreciative of the opportunity to
serve the chapters and members in Area V in her new capacity.
