         Preliminary considerations.
LOAD LIMITS, CONSTRUCTION ERRORS AND MODIFICATIONS

        VERIFY:
        ▪ Load capacity. Is it known? Has it been communicated (inventory, signage)?
        ▪ Errors in construction. Correct spacing of trestles or supporting beams?

        ▪ Materials used as per design. Type of material, thickness, fixation, sealant,

            waterproofing, support structure,..)
        ▪ Additions and/or modifications. Were they controlled and documented?

           IMPORTANT:
           ▪ Do not allow overloads caused by dust or other materials accumulated on your roofs.
           ▪ Critical Controls must be in place:

                    ○ Load capacity limits are known and respected
                    ○ Document structural changes/modifications

         PREPARING FOR SAFE ASSESSMENT

         CONSIDER:
          ▪ Can be avoided going on top? (Consider use of

              drone)
          ▪ Safe access means available and ready?

              (Staircase, ladders, MEWP)
          ▪ Safe pathways defined and marked on top?
(Assess the support structure of the pathways
              from underneath)
          ▪ Fall prevention / protection ready? (edge

protection, lifelines, anchor points - if required)

                                                                                                               59
