CORROSION
ASSESS:
▪ Identify corrosion issues (use Steel - Categorization Criteria), including
from underneath where appropriate, to detect early signs of corrosion
▪ Identify if the site is subject to ‘uncommonly’ high corrosion rates (e.g.
coastal area, slag facility) and adapt frequency of steel inspection and
corrections accordingly
▪ Material accumulation is eliminated to minimize corrosion and allow
proper inspection
