Roofs
INSPECTION FROM TOP
ASSESS:
▪ Overload. (Dust accumulation, storage of equipment or materials, snow, etc.)
▪ Deformation and/or deflection. (Bended surfaces)
▪ Signs of water entrance. (Flashing, sealing and waterproof deterioration,
water accumulation, corrosion, blocked drainages)
▪ Fixations of roof panels (missing or corroded)
▪ Concrete. (Large cracks, spalling, exposed and corroded rebar).
▪ Broken roof panels
▪ Moss and biological growth
PREVENTION AND PROTECTION
PREVENT OVERLOADS:
▪ Avoid dust accumulation by acting
directly in the source of dust.
▪ Increase the frequency of dust
cleaning
▪ Know the load limits of your roof
▪ Restrict access and barricade areas
under roofs when excessive loads
are present.
▪ Consult with an expert before you
make structural changes to the roof.
