60 Get your suppliers to assist with your
advertising

Quite often wholesale suppliers will assist with your adver-
tising if it features their product. Many businesses already
take full advantage of this, however, many do not. Most
wholesalers have excellent high gloss brochures, sample
radio advertisements, television footage, photographs and
slides that you can use to promote your business and their
products.

Ask the question. Contact your supplier and tell them
that you would like to do some advertising. Ask them their
policy regarding advertising. Most larger companies will
have a standard policy and they may ask you to forward a
prospectus.

We recently produced a magazine for a motorcycle club
convention. Over 2500 members were attending the con-
vention and the souvenir magazine was the main source of
information providing valuable details about where the
delegates had to be and when. This 38-page full colour
magazine was paid for by advertising from motorcycle
manufacturers and tour operators. The motorcycle club had
a great souvenir for the event at no cost to the club and
the advertisers had the opportunity to promote their busi-
nesses to the delegates. Everyone was happy.
