The bible doesn’t say exactly what these things were but some believe they must have been
materials objects of some kind possibly one stone with the word “Yes” inscribed on it and the
second with the word “No” also inscribed on it.

As wonderful as that was due to the Cross we today have much more. The Holy Spirit himself
abides continually within our hearts and lives and is ready at all times to give us his leading and
guidance (Jn. 14:16-17; 16:13-15)

And he put the breastplate upon him: also he put in the breastplate the Urim and the Thummim.

In as much as this was worn over the heart of the priest it pertained to the love of Christ in that he
would give himself for humanity. The two words “Light” and “Perfections” concern the leading
of the Holy Spirit.

Vv 16 And I will ask the father who will give you another advocate to help you and be with you
forever.

Vv 17 The Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him because it neither sees him nor knows
him. But you know him for he lives within you and will be in you.

[Jn. 16: 13-15]

Vv 13 But when he the Spirit of truth comes he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on
his own he will speak only what he hears and will tell you what is yet to come.

Vv 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to
you.

Vv 15 All that belongs to the father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me
what he will make known to you.
