[Ex. 28:15-30]

Vv 15 The Lord said: From the same costly material make a breastplate for the high priest to use
in learning what I want my people to do.

The Breastplate was attached to the front of the Ephod. You shall make it of gold of blue and
purple and scarlet and of fine twined linen shall you make it.

Vv 16 Is shall be 22 centimeters square and folded double.

Vv 17 With four rows of three precious stones. In the first row you shall put a carnelian a
               chrysolite and an emerald.

Vv 18 In the second row a turquoise a sapphire and a diamond.

Vv 19 In the third row a jacinth an agate and an amethyst.

Vv 20 And in the fourth row a beryl an onyx and a jasper. Mount the stones in delicate gold
               settings.

There were twelve jewels in number one for each tribe set in four rows of three each.

Vv 21 and the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel twelve according to their
names like the engravings of a signet ring; each one with his name shall they be according to the

               Twelve tribes.

As the names of the Tribes of the children of Israel were inscribed on the onyx stones on the
shoulders of the High Priest signifying Strength likewise the same names were inscribed on the
twelve stones worn over the heart of the high priest signifying the love of God.

So this means that every single believer for we are spiritual Israel is secured by “Strength’ and
“Love” all anchored in the Cross.

Vv 22 And you shall make upon the Breastplate chains at the ends of the wreathen work of pure
               gold.

Vv 23 And you shall make upon the Breastplate two rings of gold and shall put the two rings in
the two ends of the breastplate.
