Capacity enhancement of Traction Power transformers:
The traction Power transformers are designed with dual power capacity as
21.6 MVA and 30.24 MVA (Including Colling fans). Maintaining the
transformer temperature below a critical value by proving the cooling fans
enables the transformer to handle a designed enhanced load capacity of
30.24 MVA. The capacity of 04 numbers of traction power transformers
GNP-01(TR-83), GT-02(TR-73&74) and SNF-01 (TR-66) has been increased by
commissioning the cooling fans.

Loop line isolation at LPI Station :
LPI Railway station became busiest railway station in the division and LPI
became the starting/destination station for the most of the express trains in
recent days. Getting power block for day to day maintenance of the OHE
at LPI is very difficult even during the nights due to shunting and MMTS
movement. Now Division has come up with a solution for getting power by
isolating all the individual lines at LPI, by erecting the 4 new Sectioning
insulators and isolators and by converting UIOL to IOL at LPI yard.
With this modification, isolation of the individual lines becomes easy and
there by getting power blocks for OHE maintenance. Moreover this
modification increases the effective utilisation of manpower by reducing
the ideal setting of staff due to non-availability of power block.

Modification of OHE at 163 KM @ PDPL-NZB section:
State government has taken up the ROB work at 163 KM (LC-3), OHE
should be made dead for erecting girder and for bridge works at the site.
Same was done by creating temporary Section Insulator neutral section
by erecting four section insulators and one isolator at Loc. 163/18, 19, 20 &
164/1.
