Academic Consultants
Academic Consultants are employed on a joint appointment basis. As an Academic Consultant you will
be employed on the approved HSE Consultant Contract. It is also standard that you are requested to
sign a contract with the educational institute in which you will be teaching. The clauses of each
contract should align. If you would like either contract to be reviewed please send to the IMO Member
Advisory Team.
The typical structure of an Academic Consultant (Professor) role would commit 50% of time to the
academic institution. Roles such as associate professor or senior lecturer require less than a 50%
commitment.
As Academic Consultants have a joint employment relationship, this is reflected in their salary on a
separate salary scale.
