Simply noticing is a powerful tool.

                                            REALITY AND DUALITY

As you begin to notice your habits and the concepts on which your habits
are based, your gremlin will insist that they are necessary to your well-
being. He may do this by raising an all-out ruckus and by making demands,

by frightening you with catastrophic expectations of the future, by
reminding you of the nasty consequences of your actions in past situations
when you did not listen to him, and even by gently putting his arm around
you and convincing you that he has your best interest at heart. Regardless of
how he presents himself, he is your gremlin and his view of “what is so” is
grounded in make-believe. Be aware of him. It is unnecessary to try to

ignore him or to fight him. Simply notice him. From your vantage point of
being centered, you will be able to hear his chatter. Listen to it, and think of
it as just chatter. Remember—to grapple with your gremlin is to lose to
your gremlin. At the point you begin fighting with your gremlin, you are in
what I call a state of duality.

Taming your gremlin requires that you be in reality, not in duality.
When you are in reality, your energy flows freely within you and is
available to you for your use in relating to the world. Here is a simple

conceptualization of a person feeling whole and in reality rather than in
                duality:
   100   101   102   103   104   105   106   107   108   109   110
