into your skull does the pain go? What are the parameters of the pain? Can
you imagine a color that describes the pain? What might the color be?
Simply notice your body and the effect of your gremlin on it. As you simply
notice, these effects will become more and more evident, as will your
gremlin himself. Analysis, judgment, and attempts to change are
unnecessary.
For the next few days, key in on where tension makes itself known in
your body. Notice your jaws, shoulders, neck, head, back, genitals, and
stomach. Notice the effect of tension on your breathing. Listen for your
gremlin’s chatter when you detect these symptoms. Notice how your
gremlin is scaring you and/or what he is saying to you about you. Shine a
bright light on his musings and/or his all-out verbal abuse, and make a
choice to attend to it for a limited period or to direct your awareness
elsewhere.
When your gremlin is really working on you, he will shadow you to
such an extent that it will feel as though you are absorbed by him. During
these times it will seem as if you become him. As your gremlin, you will
feel self-righteous, defensive, greedy, and even downright mean. Your
