                sense of imminent doom. The thought process format I have suggested
                above will help you simply notice and accent the process your gremlin is

                using to scare you, and will help you to escape the world of make-believe.
                This will afford you some clarity and perspective from which to choose
                your action.












































                     Accenting the process your gremlin is using to scare you will diminish
                the fear. This is related to the Zen Theory of Change we discussed earlier:





                  I free myself not by trying to be free, but by simply noticing how I am
                     imprisoning myself in the very moment I am imprisoning myself.


                     It may simply be that, like the proverbial child with his hand caught in
                the cookie jar, your gremlin, once caught, becomes embarrassed and stops
                what he is doing. Once your fear is diminished, you may still choose not to
