         Take Attendance immediately. If permitted, eat snack and check kids home-
         work; award a sticker  Sit in a circle on the ground or in chairs together.

             1.   Open class with your choice of one or more of the following songs/
                rhythms: :
             2.   Be fun and unexpected, ask the kids if you want them to sing/clap the   VOCABULARY
                song in a certain style—loco, rapido, despacio  . . .

                       TEACH VOCABULARY
                   Play Matamoscas!

         1.   Using a adhesive puddy, attach your picture cards to the
             walls or blackboard in the classroom.

         2.   Divide the class into two teams and line them up in a row.
             For fun the teams can come up with  a name in Spanish.
                                                                        VOCABULARY
         3.   One person per team plays against each other and then
             goes to the back of the line when they are done.
         4.   Call the vocabulary word and the first person to slap the card with the
             flyswatter gets a point for them team
         TIP:  if there is a child that doesn’t want to participate in such a competitive
         game, they can be the score keeper. It’s up to the teacher if they choose to
         keep score. You know your class and if they can handle that.

                       ACTIVITY
                  “Toca los colores” activity

                1.  Reinforce the colors and allow
                    kids to move by having them
                    find and touch the colors all
                    over the room                                       TIPS
                2.  As you call out the command
                    hold up the picture card as they learn
                3.  Have them call out the color in Spanish once
                    they find it and keep repeating until you call the
                    next ”Rojo, rojo, rojo”
                4.  You can give more advanced students the
                    chance to call out the words as well
