In Our Society | GKAS 2026
On February 6th, we had 1250 children attend our Give Kids A Smile event at the Cradle of Aviation Muse-
um. Over 350 volunteers provided the kids with dental exams, eye screenings, oral hygiene instructions,
nutrition information, fluoride treatments and sealants. In addition the kids toured the museum, met lo-
cal author, Christine LaSpina, who read them her book, “The Dentist is Your Friend” and went home with a
NCDS backpack filled oral hygiene items and a toy as well as an insulated lunch tote with milk and an apple
courtesy of Farmland Fresh Dairies. In addition, the L.I. Nets provided all volunteers, students, and teach-
ers with free tickets to an upcoming basketball game. We also appreciate the generous donations of The
Peter and Jeri Dejana Foundation, HealthFirst, Henry Schein, Surgimac, and the Lion’s Club.
