          Congratulations to:
         NCDS Past President, NYSDA Trustee, and  Editor, Dr. Don Hills and his wife Lauren on the birth of their
         third grandchild, Sloane Harper, on March 20th.

          Condolences to:

                        The family and Friends of Dr. Sandy Klein, who passed away on January 16th just shy of his

                        96th birthday. A Queens native, Dr. Klein received his BS from NYU and his DDS degrees

                        from NYU College of Dentistry in 1967. He enlisted in the Navy and served at Portsmouth
                        Naval  Hospital  in  Virginia  during  the  Korean  War.  Dr.  Klein  was  a  member  of  Organized
                        Dentistry for 72 years, serving as NYSDA President in 1986, and was an active member of
                        the NCDS Board of Directors right up until his death. In addition to his service to our profes-
                        sion, he  was  also  a  Commissioner  for the  Roslyn  Water District  since 2011  and had  just
         been re-elected to a three-year term. Dr. Klein is survived by his wife of 70 years, Barbara, and daughters,
         twins Amy and    Susan, Deborah and Diane.

         In Our Society | Continuing Education



                                                           For  the  second  time  in  less  than  six  months,  Drs.
                                                           Richard    Marcus,  Ivan  Lukachynets,  and  Natasha
                                                           Kapoor  gave  the  lecture  “CBCT:  Now  You  See  It,  Now
                                                           You  Don’t.”  In  October 2025 the  course  was  sold  out
                                                           and had a large waiting list. They graciously agreed to
                                                           offer it again on March 26, 2026, when it was attended
                                                           by full a house again. We appreciate their dedication in
                                                           sharing  their  expertise  and  knowledge  with  their  col-
                                                           leagues.  We  also  thank  Joe  Lo  Manto  of  Vatech  for
                                                           sponsoring  the  course  and  demonstrating  how  AI  is
                                                           helping dentists diagnose and treat patients more  effi-
                                                           ciently and effectively.

          ADA Dentist and Student Lobby Day — Continuing to Work Hard for Our Members

          The ADA’s advocacy was on full display in Washington, D.C., March 23–24. NYSDA’s representative to the
          American Dental Political Action Committee (ADPAC), Dr. Michael Shreck, joined hundreds of dentists, den-
          tal students, and state staffers to meet with members of Congress and Senate offices. Dr. Shreck’s delega-
          tion, which included Dr.   Patrick Lloyd, Dean of Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, visited
          the  offices  of  our  Long  Island  representatives:  Laura  Gillen,  Tom  Suozzi,  Nick  LaLota,  and  Andrew  Gar-
          barino. Dental students from Columbia, NYU, and Buffalo also participated.
