PERSONAL BIOGRAPHY :

While being raised in the metro Detroit area, I have always dreamed of giving back to others to create
a more positive environment. Due to my passion for mental health, I look forward to majoring in psy-
chology with a minor in neuroscience. My career goal is to become a pediatric psychiatrist due to the

high rates of undiagnosed mental illnesses within the Black community, specifically with Black chil-
dren. With one of my main values being giving back to my community, I would have to say that the
main organizations that have exposed me to the value of giving back are marching band, Kappa
League, National Honor Society, and Midnight Golf Program. These organizations mainly helped me
see and understand the significance of community service and giving back to the community. I would
have to say that at least five times a month I am doing some form of community service surrounding
these activities whether it is a food drive, tutoring, or adopting a family during Christmas. I gain joy in

doing so, mainly because of the general act of kindness, along with the gain in leadership and social
awareness. While attaining different leadership positions as an underclassman in various or-
ganizations, I have been observing other leaders throughout this period. I have acquired many
traits that it takes to become a great leader.
