DAKOTA AND FRIENDS
Ever seen a dinosaur? Come to the Fair to interact with a "real" dinosaur, pet a baby T-
Rex, and see a dinosaur egg hatch before your eyes at the Lee Regional Fair. A gang of
moving, blinking, skating Triceratops, a "real" baby Tyrannosaurs Rex, and meet Dakota
the life like Deinonycus for a fun and interactive experience. Dakota and Friends will feature
six different dinosaurs, exploding volcanoes, natural habitats for the dinosaurs, and much
more. Make sure to have your camera ready for awesome photo opportunities, and a
“Whole Lotta Fun”!
DRONE EXHIBITION AND RACES
Members from the Fayetteville Multirotor Racing and Raleigh Rotor Racers will conduct a
Multi GP drone race and demonstration (as seen on ESPN) using first-person view (FPV)
radio-controlled drones.
A competition course of gates and flags will be set up for races during the day and night.
Drones will race no higher than 6-10 feet off the ground. Come watch the early practice
from 5-7 then heated racing with crashes, narrow victories, and excitement from 7:30-9:00!
1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening.
DIAPER DERBY
The Early Childhood classes at Lee County High School host the Diaper Derby. The Derby
is open to participants 10 months or younger and not walking. Only one individual will be
admitted into the fair free of charge with a child participating in this event. First, second
and third place prizes will be presented by Lee County Extension and Community
Association, Lee County Partnership for Children and the Sanford Lions Club. The Lions
Club will present winning ribbons with all participants receiving a ribbon of participation.
For more information contact Sabrina Chalmers at Lee County High School at 919-776-
7541.
LEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE DRIVING SIMULATOR
Lee County Sheriff Tracy Cater and his staff will provide a Driving Simulator Track for
fairgoers. Using virtual reality goggles the driver will maneuver a golf cart through a preset
track. Driving in an impaired mode, the simulation demonstrates the dangerous effects of
DUI/DWI driving, such as delayed response to controls and narrowing of the effective field
of view. This event brings the "do not drink and drive" message home.
