Tomintoul Oloroso
Nose: Light and simple notes of gingerbread, cocoa, spice, fruit,
malt, butterscotch and toasted bread.
Palate: Notes of dry sweetness, malt, spice, fruit, minerals and a
touch of dried fruit.
Finish: Short misting of spice, malt, fruit and a bit of that
vermouth-like quality.
Dalmore 12 Year Old
Nose: A warm coff ee house in Seattle; roasting beans, the oily
nuttiness in a fi ne espresso, there are little notes of malt and
cereal and butter from the pastry counter with rich orange
from the fruit bowl on the counter.
Palate: Notes of Seville marmalade and triple sec with winter
spices and fruitcake. Zesty cocoa and milk chocolate.
Finish: Medium, oranges.
Scapa Skiren
Nose: Runny honey and fresh cream. Hints of apple and a touch
of anise. Maybe some crushed nuts, too.
Palate: Continued honey warmth and richness. Sparks of
juicy pear and lemon peel. Touches of oak develop further on,
bringing some balancing spice.
Finish: Medium length and a bit sweet, with oak lasting too.
Ardbeg 10 Year Old
Nose: Sweet peat, coal, Caramac bars, a faint fl oral soapy note,
pepper and chilli.
Palate:Very soft , mellow entry, then the spices and peat come
through in a big way. Powerful, but with a balancing sweetness.
Great length.
Finish: Long and warming, with the smoke and pepper lasting
longest.
