Getting Real About Burnout
The practice of medicine with all of its innate stresses is now joined by
numerous externally regulated work demands to make clinicians work even
more difficult. Finding “joy” or even “satisfaction” in this environment requires
new skills for physicians. It has become vital that the physician pay attention to
his own health and his own coping mechanisms. These course give strategies
to physicians based on focusing on what is in their control and making it better,
while adapting to or letting go of demands that are out of their control.
Getting Real About Burnout
60-90 minutes. A more direct and practical presentation to help clinicians
discover what parts of their practice environment are really under their
influence and control and then learn strategies to focus on and optimize
those that can be controlled and to let go of those aspects that are out of
their control.
Strategies to Thrive in the Workplace
60 – 90 minutes. An examination in physician workplace stress and strategies
to “thrive” amongst this stress.
