Getting Real About Burnout

The practice of medicine with all of its innate stresses is now joined by
numerous externally regulated work demands to make clinicians work even
more difficult. Finding “joy” or even “satisfaction” in this environment requires
new skills for physicians. It has become vital that the physician pay attention to
his own health and his own coping mechanisms. These course give strategies

to physicians based on focusing on what is in their control and making it better,
while adapting to or letting go of demands that are out of their control.
