MESSAGE

            CA. Noel Joe Cherian
            Chairman
            Kuwait Chapter
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India

I am delighted to note that the Doha Chapter of ICAI is organizing its Fifth International Conference
with the theme “Sustainability & Growth in the Digital Era” and to commemorate this event they are
            releasing a souvenir.

Disruption is everywhere, affecting every aspect of our lives especially technology innovation that is
constantly evolving and accelerating at a significant pace. This has led to challenges in accounting
and assurance profession. It is inevitable that Chartered Accountants now need to keep abreast with
the high pace of digitization, including use of artificial intelligence and big data analytics in audits,
impairment testing and valuation of digital assets etc. There is no doubt that firms and professionals
who embrace the newer technological challenges will have a head start in this new evolving era.

I am glad to note that the Doha Chapter has come up with this theme to learn how digital disruption
is affecting the global accounting profession, and how to harness its opportunities and approach its
challenges – enabling us to stay current and best serve our clients’ needs in this rapidly changing
world. I am confident that events like this will play a vital role in empowering Chartered Accountants
to face complex challenges and take our profession to a new zenith.

I congratulate the Chairperson and the Executive Committee for the efforts being put and convey my
best wishes for the grand success of the conference. I also wish the Doha Chapter all success in its
            future endeavors.
