 Total 107 Hotspots in 65 locations (out of 325 locations) were identified with abnormal
temperatures and taken suitable remedial action to mitigate hotspots during the
period June to Aug-2019.
 PCEE/SCR has awarded group cash award in recognition of innovative work done by
the supervisors and staff of Hyderabad Division.
 HQ has issued a special drive for all other divisions of the zone based on the above
initiation by HYB Division.

 Optimization of Lightly loaded substations at NLGD and SLGD:

In the process of optimization of the performance of the available transformers, the loads
connected on the various transformers were studied and found some transformers are very
lightly loaded and some transformers are not loaded upto the optimum levels. The
transformer gives optimum efficiency when Iron losses are equal to Copper losses. Iron
losses of the transformer are constant irrespective of the connected load and copper losses
are directly proportional to the square of load current.

By shifting the loads of the lightly loaded transformers to the transformers where the
loads were not upto the optimum levels, Division has eliminated the constant losses (5% of
transformer capacity) of lightly loaded transformers.
