 Bi-Monthly Billing for Railway Quarters:
                Electricity bill for the Quarters of Hyderabad Division is carried out Bi-Monthly with Spot
                Billing machine (SBM)

                       Salient features of Spot Billing Machine (SBM):

                   Aimed to improve the realization of bills.
                   Reduction of meter defective cases.
                   Frequent monitoring of energy theft aspects.
                   Indirectly  motivated  the  occupants  to  focus  on  energy
                    conversation.
                   Necessary  software  modification  in  the  Spot  Billing  Machines
                    (SBM)  and  billing  Software  used  in  Metering  Section  has  been        SBM
                    updated accordingly.


               Use of Digital Thermal Imaging Camera for identification of Hotspots –
               An  innovation  in  maintenance  practices  from  Preventive  Maintenance  to
               Predictive  Maintenance  in  the  field  of  General  Services  (Electrical),
               Hyderabad Division



                  Thermography  is  a  method  of  inspecting  electrical  and  mechanical  equipment  by
               obtaining  heat  distribution  pictures.  Thermal  Imaging  Camera  is  used  for  knowing
               abnormal or high temperatures / hotspots which are not identified by naked eye.

                  A month long (10  June to 9  July-2019) special drive has been carried out on all
             electrical installations over the division (at 325 locations) for identifying hotspots covering
             all  power  supply  main  distribution  boards  &  panels/Over  Head  line  HT
             structures/Transformers etc., to take predictive maintenance action against any untoward
             fire incidents/accidents.
