As the level of the interview goes up, so will the interviewer’s expectations
about the scope of your ‘people’ competencies. At middle management level
they will be interested in questions such as:
n	 Can this person balance and resolve competing interests or motives?
n	 How does this person communicate/motivate across teams?
n	 Do they think more widely about people issues, encompassing things like

    training and development and talent management?
n	 How well do they manage ‘upwards’, how do they engage with different

    groups of people – peers, managers and subordinates?
