                   In first phase first preference votes are counted.
                   The candidate got quota is declared as elected.
                   All  disputes are adjudicated by the Supreme Court

                   Nomination of President must be supported by at least 50 electors.
                   Security deposit for the nomination as President is ₹ 15000 in RBI.
            Conditions of President's Office
                   He should not be the Member of Parliament or State Legislature.
                   He should not hold any other office of profit.
                   He is entitled without payment of rent.
                   He is entitled to emoluments, allowances and privileges.
                   His emoluments allowances cannot be diminished.

            Terms of President
                   The President holds office for 5 years.
                   He can resign from his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Vice - President.
                   Impeachment of the President
                   A President can be impeached for "violation of the Constitution".
                   It is initiated by the House of Parliament.
                   It is signed by one-fourth members of the House.
                   At 14 days‘ notice is given to the President.

            Vacancy in the President's Office
                   On the expiry of his tenure of 5 years by his registration.
                   Removal by the process of impeachment.

                   By his death.
                   An election to fill vacancy.
            Powers and Functions of the President
            Executive powers
                   All action must be taken by the President.
                   His or her name should be authenticated.

                   He can seek any information.
            Legislative powers
                   Summon or prorogue the Parliament to dissolve the Lok Sabha.

                   Summon a joint sitting of both the Houses of parliament.
                   Address in the first section after each general election.
                   He can appoint any member Of Lok Sabha.
                   Deputy Chairman falls vacant.
                   Nomination of 12 members in Rajya Sabha and 22 members of Anglo-Indian Community
                in the Lok Sabha.
                   The bill sent passed again by the Parliament with or without amendments.
                   The President has to give assent to the bill.
                   He can promulgate an ordinance, when the parliament is not in session.
                   It is approved in the Parliament within 6 weeks.
                   He can also withdraw an ordinance at any time.
