Q: Beside having an unlimited access to books, what other Library services do you
        use the most?

KG: The databases! There’s one called A-Z World Food with recipes from across the globe.
I’ve been able to find Norwegian recipes like those my grandmother made. We’ve also used
it for a Library program called Spices and Spatulas. We’ll start with a spice, say cumin, search
for recipes featuring it, then discuss what we each made, how we liked the spice, and how it
worked in the dish. I’ve also watched a lot of videos and tutorials on Creative Bug. While cake
decorating still remains aspirational, I did make a macrame keychain for my work keys.

Q: What’s one of the Library’s “best kept secrets?”

KG: Here’s the super insider scoop. There are paw prints going up the back stairwell courtesy
of a cat who stepped in wet cement during construction. Our Plymouth high school yearbooks
are a more accessible hidden gem. We’ve scanned all the issues going back to the 1930s—so
it’s an especially cool resource for residents.

Q: What’s on your bucket list?

KG: Personally, I’d like to travel more. I’ve been to Switzerland and Norway but would like
to go to more touristy spots like Italy and Spain. Professionally, I’ve enrolled in a Master of
Information and Library Science program at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. I really want
to grow in my profession and need the degree to do that. Otherwise, there’s a cap on what I
can achieve. Working and being a student is going to be challenging, but I love learning and
        am excited to get started.

Q: What’s the best thing about working at the Library?

KG: I love being surrounded by the books. It’s like the scene from Beauty and the Beast when
Belle goes into the massive library. Being able to help people is also at the top. I remember
one patron wanted to know who owned a local motel in 1963 before it was torn down. It took
hours of digging into the registry of deeds, but I finally figured it out!

Q: You’ve been at the Library for almost a decade. What is one of the biggest

changes you’ve seen over the years.

KG: We’ve expanded our community by expanding our programming. It’s great to see so
many new people discovering or rediscovering us.

        Q: Final thoughts?

KG: I’m really happy to have this opportunity to grow in my profession and hope that I can
make a positive impact for other people in Plymouth.
