Scanner performance
right down the line
Wenglor’s new barcode line scanner
sets new standards in the reading of
one-dimensional codes. Thanks to
the increased scanning area, the
stationary scanner can be used even
more flexibly – at manual
workstations and in fully automated systems. With the integrated CCD
line, the BLN series barcode line scanner sets itself apart in particular with
its high reading performance. The large scanning area is 20 to 200mm or
30 to 520mm depending on the model, which greatly increases flexibility
in system design and installation. The BLN scanner reliably reads 1D
codes with a very high density of over 0.075mm in static and dynamic
applications of up to 0.3m/s with a scan rate of 510 scans/s. The
decoded information is sent directly to the system via Ethernet or RS232.

Omron launches next generation SCARA robots
Omron’s new i4L SCARA is a compact robot that offers
strong performance at the lowest total cost of ownership.
The i4L delivers quality along with scalability, preventative
maintenance and integration flexibility. Thanks to its
compact design and small footprint, it is simple to install
and can be table mounted or wall mounted without the
need for additional hardware or brackets. Its compact
design and flexible programming make the i4L ideal for a
wide variety of robot applications, including digital assembly. The i4L offers
simply integration, with unique Ethernet connectivity in the base, and
maximum uptime through interactive maintenance alarms.

Sick’s off-the-shelf modular quality control system
is super versatile and reduces development time
Sick’s newly-developed
MQCS (Modular Quality
Control System) is an off-the-
shelf, multifunctional
machine vision system, delivered as a ready-to-use package of hardware
and pre-written software. Suitable for code reading, 2D or 3D inspection
duties, the MQCS significantly reduces cost and development time needed
to set up automated quality inspection and logistics applications.
Customers purchase the MQCS as a complete system with pre-written
software, control cabinet with touch-screen HMI, and a Sick application
controller, which can be combined with Sick vision sensors such as the
LECTOR image-based code reader and the Ranger 3 camera.
