reality, OMAD (one meal a day) is for optimal health, especially for
cancer patients.
For your peace of mind, the fasting protocols I suggest will never
exceed 15 days, so take a deep breath. You could take it longer but that
is completely up to you.
Depending on each individual patient, fasting strategies can differ
based on stage and type of cancer, general health of patient, age, etc.
For example, if you are 90 lbs. with less than 5% body fat, fasting is not
for you. Fasting would become catabolic, meaning it would deplete
your muscles and weaken you. Remember, fasting is supposed to
strengthen you, not weaken you. However, the vast majority of
patients do qualify for water only fasting. Here are the general criteria:
▪ At least 10% body fat
▪ Other than the cancer, generally good health
▪ A loved one to support you through fasting
▪ Well hydrated, drinking a minimum of 128 oz. water per day
▪ Not a Brittle Diabetic
▪ No other medical complications that could complicate the process
