C. Understanding Style in Essay Writing

Style refers to the manner in which a writer expresses
ideas through language. It involves choices related to word
selection, sentence structure, punctuation, and rhetorical
devices. In academic essays, the preferred style is usually formal

and objective, characterized by clear, concise sentences and
precise vocabulary. However, style can vary depending on the
type of essay and the intended audience.

When crafting an essay, it is essential to maintain a
consistent style. A formal essay should avoid colloquial
expressions, contractions, or overly casual language. At the
same time, it is important to avoid overly complex or verbose
language that can confuse readers. The goal of academic style is
to convey ideas clearly and effectively, without unnecessary
       ornamentation.

       To refine your style:
Use varied sentence structures to maintain reader interest.
Choose precise vocabulary that accurately conveys your
           meaning.
Avoid unnecessary jargon unless it is required by the field of
           study.

Strive for clarity and conciseness in every sentence.
