G. Common Mistakes in Style, Tone, and Voice

          1. Inconsistent Tone: Switching between a formal and informal
tone within the same essay can confuse the reader and
undermine your credibility. Stay consistent with the tone that
is appropriate for the essay type.

         2. Overly Complex Language: While a sophisticated vocabulary
can be effective, using overly complex or convoluted
language can obscure your meaning and alienate readers.
Clarity should always be the priority.
         3. Lack of Voice: Some students focus so much on adhering to
formal writing rules that their essays become devoid of
personality or originality. Finding a balance between formal
requirements and your personal voice is crucial.
         4. Too Casual for Academic Writing: Using slang, contractions,
or overly conversational language in formal essays can make
your writing appear unprofessional. Save casual language for
           personal or creative writing assignments.

       H. Conclusion

In essay writing, mastering style, tone, and voice is just as
important as developing strong arguments and organizing your
ideas. These three elements shape how your essay is perceived
and whether it resonates with your audience. A consistent,
clear style, an appropriate tone, and a confident voice ensure
that your message is not only understood but also impactful.
As you refine these aspects of your writing, you will become a
more versatile and effective writer, able to adapt your
approach to suit any essay or audience.
