예천 석송령(천연기념물 제294호, 수령 약 700년)은 천향리
석평마을 입구에 있는 반송으로, 일명 ‘부자나무’라고 불린다.
석송령은 재산을 가지고 있고, 세금을 납부하는 나무로도 유명
하다.
600여 년 전 풍기 지방에 큰 홍수가 났을 때, 석관천을 따라
떠내려 오던 소나무를 마을 사람이 건져 심었고, 그 후 1927년에
이수목이라는 사람이 이 나무에게 ‘석평마을의 영험있는 나무’
라는 뜻으로 ‘석송령’이라는 이름을 지어 주었다.
또 이수목은 본인이 소유한 토지 3,937㎡(약 1,191평)을 상속해
주었는데, 그로 인해 자기 재산을 갖고 세금도 내는 ‘부자나무’
라고 불리게 되었다.
재산을 늘려 마을 학생들에게 장학금을 지급하는 등 지역 사회에
큰 의미를 지니고 있다.

The Seoksongryeong Pine in Yecheon (Natural Monument
No. 294, approx. 700 years old) stands at the entrance of
Seokpyeong Village in Cheonhyang-ri. This bent pine, also
known as the “Wealthy Tree,” is famous for being recognized as
a property owner that even pays taxes.
According to legend, over 600 years ago a great flood struck
the Punggi area. A pine tree drifting down the Seokgwan
Stream was retrieved and planted by a villager. In 1927, a man
named Lee Su-mok gave the tree the name Seoksongryeong,
meaning “the spiritual tree of Seokpyeong Village.” He also
bequeathed 3,937m 2 (about 1,191 pyeong) of land to the tree.
Since then, the pine has been regarded as the “Wealthy Tree,”
owning property and paying taxes in its own right.
Over time, its assets have been managed to support the
local community, including providing scholarships for
village students, making it a tree of great cultural and social
significance.
