의령 성황리 소나무(천연기념물 제359호, 수령
약 300년)는 높이는 13.5m, 가슴 높이 둘레는
4.8m에 이른다.
가지는 1~2.7m 높이에서 옆으로 뻗어 나와
독특하고 우아한 형태를 이루고 있다.
전설에 따르면 이 소나무는 바로 옆에 있던
큰 소나무(암나무)와 부부처럼 가까이 자랐다고
한다.
두 나무의 가지가 닿으면 큰 기쁨과 축복이
생긴다고 전해지며, 실제로 두 가지가 맞닿
았던 1945년에는 한국이 광복을 맞았다.

The Seonghwang-ri Pine in Uiryeong (Natural
Monument No. 359, approximately 300
years old) stands 13.5 meters tall with a trunk
circumference of 4.8 meters at chest height. Its
branches extend sideways from 1 to 2.7 meters
above the ground, creating a unique and
graceful form.
According to legend, this pine grew closely
alongside a neighboring large pine (female
tree), like a married couple. It is said that when
their branches touch, great joy and blessings
follow. Notably, the two trees’ branches
touched in 1945, the year Korea gained
independence.
