이천 반룡송(천연기념물 제381호, 수령 약 850년)은
그 웅장한 모습과 역사적 의미로 유명한 소나무이다.
하늘에 오르기 전 땅에 서리고 있는 용이라 하여 반룡송
이라 부른다.
신라 말기 도선대사가 이천과 함흥, 서울, 계룡산 등에
장차 큰 인물이 태어날 것을 예언하면서 심어 놓은 소나무
중 한 그루라고 전해지고 있다.

The Banryong Pine in Icheon (Natural Monument No.
381, approx. 850 years old) is a pine tree renowned for
its majestic appearance and historical significance.
It is called Banryong Pine, meaning “the half-dragon
tree,” as it is said to be a dragon resting on the ground
before ascending to the heavens.
According to legend, it is one of the pines planted by
the monk Doseon during the late Silla period, who
predicted the birth of great figures in places such as
Icheon, Hamheung, Seoul, and Gyeryongsan.
