보은 서원리 소나무(천연기념물 제352호, 수령 약 600
년)는 속리산 남쪽, 삼가천을 끼고 뻗은 도로 옆에
위치하고 있으며, 높이는 15.2m, 뿌리 근처 줄기 둘레는
5.0m, 지상 84cm 지점에서 줄기가 두 갈래로 나뉘어
전체적으로 우산 모양의 수형을 이루고 있다.
법주사 입구의 정이품송과 부부사이라고 하여 ‘정부인송’
이라고도 불리는데, 정이품송은 곧게 자라 남성적이고,
이 나무는 우산 모양으로 퍼진 아름다운 모습이 여성적
으로 비유된다.
마을 사람들은 매년 이 소나무에게 마을의 평안을 기원
하는 제사를 지내고 있다.

The Seowon-ri Pine in Boeun (Natural Monument No.
352, approximately 600 years old) is located along
the road beside Samgacheon, south of Sobaeksan
Mountain. It stands 15.2 meters tall, with a trunk
circumference of 5.0 meters near its base. At 84 cm
above the ground, the trunk splits into two, forming an
umbrella-shaped canopy.
This pine is also called the Jeongbuinsong (“Lady
Pine”), as it is considered the female counterpart to the
Jeongipum Pine at the entrance of Beopjusa Temple.
While the Jeongipum Pine grows straight and is
associated with masculine qualities, the Seowon-ri Pine
spreads its branches gracefully, symbolizing feminine
beauty.
Every year, local villagers hold rituals at the tree, praying
for the peace and well-being of their community.
