영월 솔고개 소나무는 강원도 영월군 산솔면
녹전리 언덕에 있는 약 700년된 보호수이다.
운문사 처진소나무, 정이품송과 함께 우리나라
3대 명품 소나무로 불린다.
솔고개 소나무는 단종이 승하한 후 태백산 산신령이
되었고 그 혼령이 이곳에서 잠시 쉬게 되었는데
이 노송이 머리를 조아리며 배웅을 했다는 전설이
내려오고 있다.

The Solgogae Pine in Yeongwol, located on a hill
in Nokjeon-ri, Sansol-myeon, Gangwon-do, is a
protected tree estimated to be around 700 years
old.
Alongside the Weeping Pine of Unmunsa Temple
and the Jeongipum Pine, it is celebrated as one
of Korea’s three most treasured pine trees.
According to legend, after King Danjong’s death,
his spirit became the guardian deity of Mt.
Taebaek and, while passing this site, rested here
for a moment. The ancient pine is said to have
bowed its head in reverence as a farewell to the
departed king.
