Best Undergraduate Research, while National University Baliwag's "Kaya Natin" won for
Psychlips and University of Northern Philippines' "Sandalan" topped the Songwriting
competition.
The afternoon session was allocated for workshops where SISC College of Psychology
joined session 3 with a topic focused on Rethinking our Engagement with Healing and
Recovery Research. Three lecturers presented with different topics: Mr. Miguel Silan on
"Replication Crisis, Methods Misconceptions and Other Deep Problems in Research"; Ms.
James Doble on "Improving Pandemic Era Research through Open Psychological Science";
Lastly, Mr. Darren Dumaop on The “New Normal” in Undergraduate Research: Integrating the
learning from correcting methodological misconceptions and the open-science movement.
This entire event served different opportunities for SISC Psychology students. Despite
not winning the competitions, it is by the effort of the participants that make their skills in
video editing, directing, and acting, as well as research abilities that were honed even more,
plus the chance to participate is already a great deal. Likewise, the day was full of wisdom and
knowledge showered by the more knowledgeable others to their juniors!
