BACKGROUND

Historic Milestones

Since it began as Broxburn Family Centre in
1988 the organisation has grown and
evolved, without ever losing its core ethos
and values.

Opening the Range in 1997 was a pivotal
moment. The area was in dire need of help.

And our multi-award winning playground
was at the forefront of outdoor play. It has
since gone from strength to strength and is
still popular, with hundreds still attending our community play sessions.

Opening our first school-aged childcare (SACC) service at the Family Centre in 1999

began our journey into registered childcare and quickly rose to be in the top 2% in the
country.

Building on our approach of education being the key to help people to help
themselves, we complemented our informal adult learning activities by becoming an
accredited SQA Centre in 2004. This enabled us to deliver certificated SVQs and we
never looked back.
