Configuring a Monitor
7.5.5. GuardII+ Synchronization Configuration
Flux measurements require a synchronization signal to run; the signal used can either
be a Shaft Trigger or the ac power of the monitor. Press the ‘Shaft Trigger Setup’ button on
the ribbon to configure the Flux measurement synchronization. The shaft trigger
configuration is split up into 3 main areas:
• The Synchronization Signal graph shows the shaft trigger signal after it has been
detected by the hardware.
• The Shaft Trigger Signal graph shows the raw shaft trigger data and the selected
trigger threshold.
• The controls are used to manually acquire a fresh set of shaft trigger data and show
some analysis results of the shaft trigger signal.
Note:
Properly configuring the shaft trigger requires that the asset be
running, preferably at synchronous speed.

On first entering this screen, the graphs will be blank.
• If a shaft trigger is not available on the asset, then ensure that ‘AC Sync’ is selected;
no other configuration is required.
• To use the shaft trigger, ensure that the ‘Shaft Trigger Sync’ is selected and then
progress as described below.
