Configuring a Monitor
Note:
On a salient pole machine, a pole typically shows some sign of
problems when the percentage difference of the flux amplitude is
more than 1-2%.
On round rotor machines, this increases to about 3% for coils with
more than 10 turns per coil, and 5-10% for coils with less than 10 turns
per coil.
To set an Alert threshold for Flux-S:
• Press ‘Acquire Data’ to get a fresh set of data on the graph. This step is optional,
but it does allow you to see what the current measurement results are.
• Select one or more poles on the diagram.
• Enter the new Alert threshold in the text box.
• Changes can be uploaded immediately by pressing ‘Save Changes’ or later using
the ‘Upload’ button in the ribbon (see Section 7.8).
• Pressing ‘Discard Changes’ will revert the thresholds to the previously loaded
values.
• There are some additional controls to assist with pole selection, and the graph can
be re-scaled to suit the data being displayed.
