Downloading Measurements
8. Downloading Measurements
Once a monitor has been collecting data, it needs to be downloaded into IAM to be
viewed and/or analyzed; this should be done periodically to allow for early detection of any
Asset problems indicated by the measurement results, as well as detection of any monitor
problem should it occur.
NOTE:
The recommended data download and review interval is not greater than
six months.
There are two basic methods for downloading measurement data.
8.1. Direct Download
This method of downloading data requires a live communication connection to the
monitor through either Ethernet or USB.
To download data directly from a monitor, select the technology and monitor in the
database tree, and then press the ‘Instrument Data’ button on the ribbon or right-click the
monitor and select ‘Download’.
While different monitoring technologies allow for different options during download, the
process for downloading from different monitors is the same. For example, downloading
Flux data is very different from downloading PD data, but downloading PD data is the same
for a GuardII+ as it is for a BusTracII.
