But, we must understand that God usually requires
that we do something to put our faith into action. Before
He raised His dear friend Lazarus from the dead, He had
the people to roll the stone away from the opening of the
tomb. Before He changed water into wine, He had them
to fill the pots to the brim with water.
Now, you would think that if He could raise the
dead or change water to wine He could roll the stone
away himself, or make wine flow from the empty pots.
Of course He could have. That was the easy part. But, He
wants us to put forth the effort to set faith into motion.
Then, when we do what we can do, He does what we can’t
do. If we roll away the stone, He’ll raise the dead. If we
obey His command, He’ll perform the miracle.
This was their way of demonstrating faith in His
mighty power to perform miracles. So, if we truly believe
His promise to protect us from the novel coronavirus, or
any other virus, He will. But, we must obey His directions
in order for that to happen. The bible says:
“For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so
also faith without works is dead.” James 2:26 (KJ21)
Our part is simple. All we have to do is quarantine
ourselves. He’ll do the rest.
3. Respect Our Government Officials—
Next, we must be obedient to God when it comes to
respecting the guidance and the executive directives of our
government leaders. During the new COVID pandemic, world
leaders ordered their citizens to quarantine themselves.
When an executive order to shelter at home is issued
by our mayor, governor… or our president, unless it violates
our biblical convictions, we should take heed.
