Towards Better Compaction

Some of the duties of an agent may include:

1. Arranging berths, pilots and tugs if necessary
2. Handling customs and harbour documentation
3. Arranging for bunkering (fuel)
4. Arranging for provisions including food and water
5. Acting as a conduit to and from the owners

Communication

Communication is the process of understanding and sharing of information and meaning. It occurs
when information is exchanged between two or more people by way of speaking, writing, signals or
other behaviours. For communication to be effective, your message must be understood by others
as you intended.

Communication involves a sender,
a receiver/audience and a message Message
which is illustrated by the
“Communication Cycle”.
The method of communication
depends on the environment and the Communication Audience
message. For example, the large No Sender cycle

noisy environment.
